Get Familiar with Autonomous AI Agents: The New Frontier

The new wave in the world of AI

In the last week, the prominent storyline in the world of AI has been the rise of autonomous AI agents.

Two in particular, AutoGPT and BabyAGI have been the talk of the Twittersphere, and have become the two most download Github repos in the last weeks.

If watching a 3 minute video is easier for you to digest information, I’ve put one together for you below:

Essentially, these autonomous AI agents use LLMs like GPT-4 to autonomously develop and manage different kinds of tasks. In other words, it doesn’t need you to operate – they are able to tell themselves what to do next without any input from a user.

You can try it out yourself with this Web UI put together by Reworkd.

While these models are in its infancy, the excitement surrounding them is due to the fact that they represent a major step towards Jarvis-like autonomous agents – a prototype of the next frontier: “Agent Smith” types of AI that can recursively clone itself.

Here are some helpful threads I’ve gathered for you if you want to go down the rabbit hole and learn more.

Autonomous AI is a sector that will be moving very fast over the next few months, and there will be ample opportunity for first-movers. So I recommend you get familiar and pay attention.

I’ll do my best to keep you updated as well.
